Healthy and happy digestion is the foundation of health. This is why Yoga and Qigong have amazing techniques to clear stagnation, open the fascia, and light our digestive fire.
In traditional Chinese medicine the hours of the spleen and stomach are 7am-9am. This is the best time to practice purging and circulating energy through the digestive organs before you eat breakfast.
The YOQI Morning Routine for Happy Digestion begins with Attune warmups to wake up the body and clear stagnation from the digestive organs. From here we move into Tonify and Circulation movements for the Earth Element. The session ends with a guided seated energy meditation to activate the Qi in your Lower Dantian, giving you a boost of vitality to take on your day.
This is my go-to morning routine and is especially great to do in the seasonal transition months of August - September, January - February.
